Kapler Marpaung - Chairman

Mr. Kapler was born in Medan on 16 December 1961 an his lastest position in insurance company was as President Director at PT. Asuransi Binagriya Upakara (subsidiary company of Bank Indonesia and Bank Tabungan Negara). As a Chief Commissioner of PT. Tala Re International and PT. Putratala Sarana Mandiri.  As a Commissioner of PT. Magma Consulting. For twelve years (from February 1994 to October 2005) he worked at PT. BGIB Insurance Brokers & Consultants (previously called PT. Bimanatara Graha Insurance Brokers & Consultants) with last position was President Director.  Before joining BGIB, his last position was Assistant General Manager Tehnical & Marketing at PT. SIUSAR Insurance Service & Co.

He used to be a Chairman of Indonesian Insurance and Reinsurance Broker Association (ABAI) for period 2002-2005, a Counselor of ABAI and a Chief Committee of BBP ABAI for period 2005-2008. As a Counselor of Himpunan Ahli Pialang Asuransi/Reasuransi Indonesia (HAPSI) from 2008 up to now. He used to be a Vice General Secretary of Himpunan Ahli Pialang Asuransi/Reasuransi Indonesia (HAPSI) for two periods. As Secretary of Assosiasi Ahli Manajemen Asuransi Indonesia (AMAI) - Komisariat IV Jakarta. Executive Editor for AMAI Journal for 1999-2009. Chairperson II Certified of Wealth Manager Association (CWMA), founder of Komunitas Penulis Asuransi Indonesia (KUPASI).

He was gradurated from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STEI) Jakarta as Sarjana Ekonomi (SE), Magister of Business Administration (MBA) and Magister Ministry (M.Min). He also hold some Professional Certification such as Ahli Pialang Asuransi & Reasuransi Indonesia (APAI), Ajun Ahli Asuransi Indonesia-Kerugian (AAAI-K), Certified of Indonesian Insurance and Reinsurance Broker (CIIB), Qualified of Insurance Practitioner (QPI). In 2005, he was qualified as the holder of Certified Wealth Manager/CWM from Greenwich University - Business School-UK and also a member of Chartered Insurance Institute, London.

He is one of the Lecturers at some education institutions such as at MM & MBA Program at Gadjah Mada University, guest lecturer at MM Program LPPM Jakarta, Economic Faculty Universitas Indonesia, Lecturer at Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Asuransi - TRISAKTI, lecturer at Maesa Consulting Wealth Management Certification, teaches at Pendidikan Broker Asuransi & Reasuransi - ABAI, teaches at Lembaga Pendidikan Manajemen dan Keuangan Widya Dharma Arta, He also actively writes articles for medias and as speaker for seminar both locally and overseas.

He started working at Public Accountant Herman Dody Tanumihardja & Rekan in 1984 until 1989 with last position Senior in Charge. In 1989, he joined with PT. Bimantara Graha Insurance Brokers & Consultants as Section Head for Finance and Accounting Division. In 1997, he was honered as Finance Manager and in 2001, he was honered as Deputy Director. At beginning of 2005, joining with PT. Jupiter Insurance Brokers & Consultants and the current position as Director.

Having degree from Economic Faculty of Moestopo University, Jakarta in 1992. Then he davance his study and in 1999, he earned his Magister Management Degree from Institute Pengembangan Wirausaha Indonesia, Jakarta.

Besides those above, he previously was also as a lecturer in some universities such Moestopo University from 1983 until 1989, Mpu Ta

ntular University from 2004 until 2005.
